My research interests come under the broad banner of the changing world of work but in particular, the realm of self-employment. This is in conjunction with investigating workplace commitment, consultants, client relationships, and project network organisations. More recently, my work investigates the link, or lack of one, between the profession and practice of HR and that world of self-employment. I have recently been granted funding by the CIPD to examine this.My research has been published in internationally renowned journals such as Human Resource Management Journal, Organization Studies, the British Journal of Management, and Human Resource Management Review. I sit on the Steering Committee of the Work Futures Research Centre and am a member of the Centre for Research on Work and Organisations. In terms of teaching, I lead two modules at the Undergraduate level; MANG1003 Introduction to Management and MANG1021 Ideas that shape the business world 2: Markets and consumers. I am the seminar leader on the Undergraduate module 'Managing Your People'​. This involves over 50 hours of contact time covering topics such as Recruitment & Selection, Negotiation, Training & Development, Strategic HRM and HRM Outcomes. I also cover seminars on the module 'Organisational Behaviour'​, am involved in the delivery of the module 'Consulting: Context, Theory and Practice' at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and have supervised Dissertations on the MSc in Human Resources and Consulting.My work has also includes marking and assessment in addition to involvement in the EQUIS Accreditation project which saw the School of Management achieve the highest level of global recognition available.

Studying for a PhD having been granted a 3 year full University Research Scholarship.Currently researching employee commitment to multiple foci, in particular how this commitment and interaction with various entities affects employee performance outcomes. The aim is to investigate the above using qualitative methods with the possibility of continuing my previous research that has utilised visual methods and participant derived images as sources of data.I am also a Teaching Fellow for 1st year BSc Management undergraduates, dissertation supervisor for the MSc in HRM & Consulting, a member of the Public Engagement Forum and organising this year's 'Pint of Science' event, a student representative on the School's Student/Staff Liaison Committee, member of the Research Academic Council and the Student Disciplinary Appeals Committee. I am also involved in the accreditation process of the School of Management by EQUIS.

Initially working at District level I was responsible for driving and supporting the delivery of strategic vision into operational outcomes. I took a lead in the performance element of the Performance and Tasking process, working within the Senior Leadership Team I informed and advised the District Commander on performance issues and planning in addition to performance analysis for senior officers to maintain and drive up performance at all levels. I then took a role in the Intelligence Directorate, taking over ther delivery of a Business Case that primarily delivered a new system for intelligence processing while at the same time using workforce modernisation to assist in the set up new investigation teams that directly contributed to district performance improvement. I devised new methods of using performance data that could be used across the organisation to ensure that intelligence was delivered in quantity but at sufficient quality. This role was a balance of project management, major programme involvement, performance analysis and data manipulation in addition to micro level change management skills and techniques to ensure that unit performance was not compromised.

A Commissioned Officer in the Royal Air Force with over 130 hours on B200 King Air, Firefly and Grob Tutor. Included extensive leadership and management training, experience and qualifications. Regular leadership roles including executive management of a team of 250 personnel, responsibility for multi-million pound aircraft and working in stressful and high-pressure environments.Security cleared.Compulsory redundancy due to defence cuts as a result of the Strategic Defence and Security Review 2010.

I established my own History Tutoring business, preparing for and meeting with students preparing for A-Level History exams. This involved assimilating and learning large amounts of information and then communicating it in ways that suited the individual's needs. All of my students achieved an A or A* in the Summer examinations.

Providing professional security at events such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and the Defence Security and Equipment International show at London's Excel.

Working as part of a small team delivering a fantastic holiday experience to customers on a French camp site in the Vendee region just after my A-Levels. Duties included accommodation servicing, meeting and greeting customers, translation and problem solving.
