Since September of 2011 I have been filling the roll of Financial Analyst for the Office of the Treasurer. I have modernized how the university tracks incoming electronic funds and their application within our general ledger system as well as provide useful reports on various aspects of the transfers ($2.4 Billion annually). I have also drafted policy with regards to various issues surrounding electronic fund claims and overseen the implementation of a new general ledger system’s claim table. In addition to this I have been monitoring external agencies and their agreements, monitoring various aspects of credit card agreements, and creating ad hoc reports for distribution to the Treasurer and VPCFO. My role with Treasury has expanded to include managing university held endowments ($229.0 Million in various assets), monitoring the university’s cash flows and create models and forecasts from this data that support various initiatives (measuring the impact of moving bursar billing dates have on investment/liquidity balances for example). I have also collaborated with other departments to create reports and models for their business projection/decision point needs.During my tenure with the University Budget Office I modeled financial plans and processes for the University’s budget process as well as monitored the budget by reviewing reports and accounting records to determine if allocated funds have been spent as specified. During my time with the Budget Office I expanded the duties and responsibilities of my position. These new duties included monitoring the use and funding of life cycle funding accounts, research using data that was ether found internally or outside the university and collating it into meaningful formats as well as analysis, conducting a yearly survey of IU peer’s fee requests to accompany IU school’s instructional fee requests to IU Trustees, and oversee the use and funding of both IU and IUF Faculty Endowment Match Program accounts.
