I mentor managers, Board members, and homeowners, and am a past presenter at HousingWire, South Fulton HOA Alliance, and various Board of Director training events. I regularly pen articles for the industry, and have many of these archived as a blog at www.buckheadpropertymanagement.comI carry a national designation of Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), and volunteer with Community Associations Institute (CAI), having served as secretary for the Georgia chapter, chair for the Georgia magazine committee, a 2010 CAI-Georgia Educator of the Year, 2017 Doyle P Jones Leadership Award recipient, served on the 2019 commission to update testing for Georgia community management licensing, and am currently serving on the CAI Georgia Legislative Action Committee as well as the Board of Directors for the Georgia CAI chapter. Prior to becoming a community association manager, I served as a volunteer on the Board for my community's condominium association, where I coordinated a $1.5 million special assessment to renovate the buildings, and implemented collections via garnishments, foreclosure, towing, utility cutoff and court appearances to cut delinquencies from 60% to 15% and turning the community around from near-insolvency to $100K in reserves during a four-year period. Also during this time I resolved a 10-year long litigation process by crafting a proposal which obtained 90.5% community approval (required 80% for passage).During one of my early assignments as a manager, I coordinated passage of $5.4 million special assessment for a community renovation and oversaw the work involving the exterior of a mid-rise in Midtown Atlanta.Among other volunteer activities, I was an in-person speaker for the Alzheimer's Association (until COVID).
