Brought on as the company’s first dedicated international provider communications specialist. During a thrice-extended contract, developed a multi-disciplinary, marketing-integrated communications plan from scratch that supports overarching International Vision Care growth objectives. Executed on strategies and tactics for provider/doctor members within the China, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia markets.

Served as an embedded executive consultant and change agent. Senior communications contract position for the California Medicaid Management Information System (CA-MMIS) involved developing and implementing division-wide internal and executive comms strategies in an Agile-practicing environment. Brought stability, innovation and senior-level strategy to the division’s comms program. Led organizational change management (OCM) communications. Developed and implemented a complete makeover of division’s communications plan. 400% readership increase with redesign of division’s news intranet site; chief writer for channel. 300% attendance increase with overhaul of internal events; managed content of divisional all-hands. Developed customized spokesperson training course for division’s leadership.

Leveraged 15 years of hardcore media relations within Intel's Global Communications Group to develop and implement an executive and employee relations program for the new and critical Internet of Things Group. As the internal comms rep on the senior vice president and general manager's staff, aligned 1,200 worldwide employees to divisional strategies, corporate direction and leaders’ key messages. Provided expert consulting and guidance through regular cadence of written, video, town hall and live webcast communications as part of an overarching plan aimed to set expectations for robust two-way dialogue between leaders and employees.-- Achieved organization-wide knowledge management and leadership credibility measured through 96-99% of employees who routinely responded “agree” or “strongly agree” to quarterly surveys asking if they understood business priorities and whether leadership did a good job communicating business priorities and fostering an environment of transparency.-- Ranked top 5% among all Intel business units for employee communications readership/viewership.-- Developed and implemented business unit’s first communications plan that integrated employee communications with media relations, industry analyst relations, marketing and partner divisions.-- Led internal communications in support of Intel Corporation's acquisition of three companies. Worked lockstep with counterparts of the acquired companies in addition to Intel Legal. [Relatedly, served as corporate media spokesperson for Pacific Bell during its merger with SBC (now AT&T)].

Tasked with being the only corporate media relations manager whose scope encompassed a combination of media relations, operations and event management. Supported Intel Media Relations in a variety of critical roles and established a strong basis for disciplined and quality writing. -- Recognized for strong writing skills and served as copyeditor of all corporate news releases for 14 years. Launched Intel Free Press, a pioneering brand journalism news service for external news media.-- Led crisis communications pertaining to such issues as product errata and the SARS epidemic in Asia that caused cancellation of Intel’s largest technology convention in China. [Relatedly, as Pacific Bell spokesman, handled media and messaging for countless telephone outages, high-profile employee matters (including an excused juror on the O.J. Simpson criminal trial) and labor issues.]-- Taught self-developed writing skills course to worldwide organization and agencies. Metrics pertaining to message delivery and media pickup improved 20% in first year. CEO lauded team for improved writing.-- Managed PR operations of the Intel Developer Forum, the company’s largest industry event. Oversaw news management, briefings and media credentialing for 53 multi-day events worldwide. During 14-year tenure attendance of Fall U.S. event, alone, grew from 75 to 630 vetted and credentialed press and analysts. Dominated tech coverage and social media share of voice.-- Managed PR for International Consumer Electronics Show; key advertising campaigns that required serving as publicist/handler for such celebrities as will.i.am, Levar Burton, Brooke Burke and William Shatner; PR manager for USB, video technologies and flash memory with 110% first-year media coverage increase.

PACIFIC BELL – CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, MEDIA RELATIONS(Los Angeles – February 1994 to March 1997)-- Served as primary media spokesperson for the Los Angeles region, the company’s largest. Heavy crisis communications emphasis.-- Promoted and publicized core company products and services in addition to such enterprises as Internet service provision, digital services, videoconferencing, entertainment technology, multimedia, wireless and electronic commerce.PACIFIC BELL – EXTERNAL AFFAIRS DIRECTOR, GRASSROOTS & CAMPAIGNS(Los Angeles – March 1997 to July 1998)-- Orchestrated government- and community-relations campaigns for Los Angeles Region.-- Coordinated multi-track communication campaigns to achieve third-party, employee/retiree and legislative support for issues vital to shareholders and the overall business.SBC – CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, BRAND IDENTITY & ADVERTISING (San Antonio [relocated to SBC headquarters] – July 1998 to May 1999)-- Developed and implemented advertising strategies to competitively position corporate brands and enhance brand image and consumer perceptions (Pacific Bell, Southwestern Bell, Nevada Bell, Cellular One and Southern New England Telecommunications).-- Served as internal and external subject matter expert on all brand identity/equity issues.-- Managed advertising agencies on all brand creative.
