DevOps Lead/Engineer\IT Manager\Sr. Systems Engineer\Director with over 28 years of IT Administration\Archicecture\Engineering and Management experience. My first 25 years in the industry were as a Windows and Linux Admin. My highlighted skills included: designing and implementing Windows and Linux infrastructure (AD, Exchange, VPN, LAN/WAN, etc). I have also managed small to large-scale technology infrastructures supporting groups of up to thousands of clients, both locally and remotely. I have also managed budgets in excess of $16 million dollars as well as managing dozens of IT Staff. For the last 3+ years, I have made the conversion into DevOps. I have certifications in AWS and Azure. I currently work within various areas of DevOps including Core Infrastructure, Architecture, Networking, AKS, SPA Applications, Pipelines, and "lift and shift" from on-prem to cloud infrastructures. Obviously, as a DevOps engineer, I also teach what I know to Jr. DevOps engineers. This is very important to me as I believe the more I can teach my Jr. DevOps engineers the more they can take on and move forward in their careers.I have a proven ability to translate project needs into technology requirements that support the company’s business objectives and to successfully manage all phases of IT projects from needs analysis and requirements definition to vendor selection, implementation, and training. This is a skill that has taken me years to acquire. On the sire, I have taken my large-scale networking, infrastructure, and management skills acquired over 28 years in the IT business and offered it to small businesses that need help. In today's competitive world, and with the rush to the cloud technologies small businesses need help in converting to the cloud which I normally do for a small fee. I also assist the small business community helping them understand the intricacies of technology and how it can help them achieve their goals. Not everyone can afford an IT person. Paying it forward, so to speak, is important to me.

This is a website I started over 18 years ago to help folks learn about computers and also provide timely news they need to know about. I am the owner of the website but I do have a team of folks who also contribute to the site and we have recently brought in a Marketing and Site Design Co. to help us expand well beyond where we are now. Via the website I have been contacted\asked to speak at several events relating to Small Business specifically helping small business owners make better use of what they currently have and showing them, from a cost conscious mentality, how they can look like the “larger companies” they compete with at a fraction of the cost without losing the 'personal touch'. I have spoken at the Microsoft Store (Tysons Corner) and am now involved in a couple of 'pro bono' projects in the DC area helping small business achieve what I, and a few others around here have achieved already, and that's launching a Small Business and actually making it successful. My website is currently listed (after a recent re-vamp, front to back) as one of the top two million visited websites on the planet. We are growing at an alarming rate.
