Systematic study of the magnesium alloy AZ31 (electro)chemical reactivity in solutions of NH4Cl, (NH4)2SO4, Na2SO4, NaCl and NaClO3 and their mixtures in order to define the NH4+ effect in the corrosive process. The study consisted of electrochemical characterization (measurements of free corrosion potential of the alloy, measurements of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization measurements, galvanostatic polarization measurements) and chemical characterization (surfaces examination by means of optical microscopy and SEM electron microscopy, spectrophotometric determination of Mg2+ concentration, estimation of corrosion rate by measuring hydrogen volume and weight loss).

Performance evaluation of metallic catalysts (Ni and Co), supported on La2O3 and perovskites, used to conduct the steam reforming of ethanol. The catalysts were prepared with different metal loads by means of flame pyrolysis method. The study was conducted at different temperatures, even after catalysts regeneration and in a mini-pilot plant with a fixed-bed reactor made of quartz. The performances were compared considering the distribution of products, the conversion of ethanol and water, the selectivity of the various reaction products and the hydrogen yield.
