United States Air Force veteran with over 14 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity. Most recent experience is with Navient. While there, I was the lead for operational effectiveness scanning for Navient’s entire commercial network environment consisting of over 10,000 devices. Used tools such as Tenable Nessus/Security Center and Security Center API, Tenable Nessus agents, ServiceNow, PowerShell, and Excel to determine devices that were on the network and not being scanned or sufficiently/successfully scanned for vulnerabilities. Also, I maintained identification and reporting to senior leaders of vulnerabilities found on network devices that were externally facing to ensure risks were mitigated in compliance with service level agreements. I created PowerShell scripts to integrate with Tenable Security Center API to customize/extend Tenable Security Centers capabilities not currently available in the web interface allowing for better efficiency and effectiveness of required tasks. I also efficiently created regular plan of action and milestone (POAM) reports to provide evidence to multiple governmental agencies as proof of having the proper vulnerability and compliance remediations according to governmental requirements and service level agreements. As a cybersecurity engineer at CAE, a flight simulation contractor for the DoD. I had the opportunity to reengineer and build out cybersecurity systems from the ground up, securing some of the governments greatest multimillion dollar technology by applying cybersecurity requirements mandated by DISA STIGs, DoD instructions 8500.01, and NIST 800-53. I gained experience and heavily used, Windows Server group policy management, PowerShell scripting for automation, McAfee ePO antivirus, Windows Firewall, Tenable SecurityCenter/Nessus vulnerability scanner, SCAP scanner for configuration compliance, git/github, sysinternals suite, Microsoft security compliance toolkit, Ansible for Red Hat Linux configurations, among others. I was also given the opportunity to completely re-engineer the cybersecurity implementation process reducing 2 weeks of cybersecurity work on every project and allowing for change management control, an accomplishment I am most proud of.Competencies: Windows Server, group policy management, PowerShell scripting, McAfee ePO antivirus, Tenable SecurityCenter/Nessu vulnerability scanner/, virtualization, networking fundamentals, multiple Linux distributions, SCAP scanner, sysinternals suite, Microsoft security compliance toolkit, NIST and DoD compliance regulations, wireshark, nmap.
