Store Software Analyst
As a Software Analyst I was in charge of monitoring 2000+ servers using Netcool. We used Netcool to monitor: files being sent, applied, failed to apply, Task Manager, and Event Viewer. Used Remote Ware to create, send, schedule, and edit sessions down to the store servers. The sessions would apply files, clean up failed file applies, stop or start and cycle services, shutdown and restart servers. Along with monitoring the store servers I worked with all 1005 stores to ensure their registers and peripherals were up and running. Used Remedy ticketing to tack, monitor and resolve problems with stores. Another aspect of my job was to work on new stores and remodels. In charge of setting up the register orders, and overseeing the tech support for the new stores and remodels. I used my interpersonal skills to work close and personal with vendors like IBM, NCR, RCS, and Motorola. Part of being a software analyst was to be part of a rotational on call team. Provided 24x7 phone/remote support to our helpdesk while on call. The final part of my job was to keep our POS Lab up and running. This included: reimaging registers, setting up new test environments, replacing and ordering register peripherals.
Computer Hardware Tech.
On a daily basis I would custom build and deploy all of the new workstations and servers. Along with the building of the new machines I loaded them with Windows XP, Office 2003, Adobe, SQL 2005, and Visual Studio 2005. My job was also to be the in house desk side support and phone support for our office. I was also in charge of the routine maintenance and support in house and at our colo facility at Norlight for our servers running server 2000 and 2003. I had to analyzed and fix network and connectivity errors as they came up for LAN and Wi-Fi connections. After the issues I would research methods to prevent the reoccurrence of the errors. Part of my job was to research, order, and test new technology in hardware and software to replace the old or out dated. I was in charge of changing the weekly back-up tapes in house and at colo facility, as well as set-up and maintained the backup jobs. Help with the re building and re wiring of the server room. I also tested all internal and ‘boxed’ software programs developed in-house.
