Oil and gas professional with 50 years of experience in the industry. From 1969 to 1991 working with BP in various roles, firstly as a Mariner attaining the rank of Captain commanding oil tankers and emergency support vessels, then as Marine Manager for North Sea Operations, as Offshore Installation Manager on the Forties Field and as a Rig Manager. In 1991, with Texaco as Safety Manager North Sea and European Drilling Operations Manager, and as Operations Manager in Bulgaria managing the exploration and appraisal of the Galata Field. Established Orbis in 1997 to acquire the rights to the Galata Field, selling the rights in 1998 to UK Melrose Resources plc. Continued to support Melrose as Managing Director Bulgaria and then from 2006 as Operations Director responsible for the development of the company’s main production assets in Bulgaria, Egypt, USA, Turkey and Romania. Since 2015, providing advisory services and base logistic personnel to Total and later Shell in support of their deep-water drilling projects (4 wells drilled to date). From 2002 to 2011 the Chairman of the British Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce. In 2003 receiving an OBE for Social Work in Bulgaria and Services to British Industry and Foreign Investment.
