Nutribiota-IBD.AI is a research project in collaboration with Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and several Spanish universities and hospitals to study with Artificial Intelligence the impact of Nutrition and Lifestyle on the composition of the intestinal Microbiota and its therapeutic effect on Ulcerative Colitis.My involvement in the project is twofold. As an Ulcerative Colitis patient and technology entrepreneur, my dream is to bring together the best research talent from different centers of excellence and disciplines to work together to find a cure for the disease. I also aim to attract investors who share the same values and passion for science and improving the world. As the founder of a start-up, I have experienced firsthand many different processes:On the engineering side, I have worked throughout the full lifecycle of software product development. My applications are sold in over 65 countries and they run stably on multiple operating systems, languages and locales. My favorite development methodology is Scrum and Agile Programming, both with tailored processes adapted to meet the needs of the organization.On the business side, I have developed from the ground an international channel for online direct sales. The presence on the web has been extremely helpful to make my products known to distributors and manufacturers of printing equipment, which has ended up opening new retail sales channels.I have also had experience in presenting a business plan to an investor group and overcoming a funding round. I raised €108,000 in venture capital to found Imagiam, with an option for additional €150,000 in a second round. Flomics is a biotechnological start-up located at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park that combines state-of-the-art Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics to detect in blood samples the early stage of complex diseases such as colorectal cancer. My collaboration consists of helping in the development of the business and implementing customized techniques of digital marketing and Big Data analytics to improve online positioning and internationalization.

VRPharma is a start-up that has developed a Virtual Reality solution for use in hospitals to improve the patient experience during medical procedures. My collaboration with this project in seed stage is oriented to help in the areas of digitalization, internationalization, software consultancy and search of potential investors.

My main task was the development of the Artemis project, a platform for video conferencing, tele-assessment and remote adaptation of computer access devices, aimed for the elderly and for people with motor disabilities. Managed technologies: Windows, Visual C++, MFC, Axis API, Databases.

My work consisted in the development of image segmentation, automatic object recognition and motion estimation software, on C++, Windows and Unix environments. I also collaborated in several articles published in academic journals or conference proceedings, such as IEEE.

In parallel with my high school studies, I learned assembler programming in a self-taught way to make the conversion to Commodore 64 of an MSX 2 game. Once finished, I made a presentation of the game in the London offices of Konami to three directors of the company. The conversion was very successful but was never released because the MSX 2 version was an exclusive license. In return, I was offered a job with the company but could not accept the offer because it was incompatible with my studies.
