Manager, Technical Programs, Customer Success StrategyNetapp Aug 2012 - Jun 2015Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina AreaI am an established technical leader and change agent with 20 years of experience in the IT industry. I am a NetApp veteran with almost 15 years in the storage industry. I am currently the team leader for NetApp's Select Enterprise Account (SEA) Technical Account Managers (TAMs). In this role I am responsible for providing managerial advice and guidance to the Global TAM community, TAM development and mentoring. I am also responsible for all aspects of the Portfolio Adoption Program (formerly E100 cDOT Adoption Program) including program creation, development, compliance management, metrics, reporting, outcomes and evangelization. The adoption program is a framework and series of protocols and methodologies that I developed in order to help clients transition from old NetApp technologies to new ones, and from competitive solutions to NetApp's product portfolio. I regularly report on the success of this critical program to the most senior NetApp executives.I act as the primary interface from the Select Accounts into NetApp's Tech Senate, an exclusive strategy group which help define and recommend product strategy. I chair a Select Account Strategy group that works with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that Select Account requirements are taken into adequate consideration when product development decisions are made. As both a Tech Senator and the TAM leader, I am regularly asked to provide advice and guidance to senior executives regarding strategic product and operational decisions.I am regularly asked to manage "special projects" for senior executives ranging from tactical field and competitive assessments, to longer term strategic research, managerial guidance and crucial decision making such as product roadmap recommendations.I report to the Director of Strategic Account Programs and also have a dotted line report to the Senior Vice President of World Wide Systems Engineering. -

Global Systems EngineerNetapp Oct 2006 - Apr 2008was responsible for all aspects of solution design, architecture, post sales installation and support for Data ONTAP GX and FlexCache. I developed training and course materials for Data ONTAP GX and FlexCache for delivery to SE’s and PSE’s in both EMEA and the USA. I served as a conduit between Business Units, Sales staff and Customers with a stake in either High Performance Computing or NFS Caching. As no sales manager was directly responsible for the GX number across EMEA, I also took on a Business Development Role. This meant that I was directly involved in developing opportunities from the ground up in a quasi-sales role. -

I was responsible for both pre and post sales, usually swapping on an account-by-account basis with the only other SE. My focus at the time was that of NetCache, Data ONTAP, NFS and CIFS. I was awarded the NetApp SE of the Quarter during FY2001.At the end of 2001 I was transferred to the UK where I held a variety of SE roles and successfully worked on many customer accounts including Vodafone, Thales, Symbian, Virgin Media, NTL, Pipex, BT, ARM, Renault F1 and ARUP.In 2004, I was awarded the prestigious EMEA SE of the Year Award.
