Managed several small and large scale capital acquisition efforts to support technology improvement initiatives. Designated supervisor for 15+ engineers and technicians during management absences. Responsible for setting priorities and scheduling resources for testing activities.

Major duties included the design and execution of static load and low cycle fatigue component and assembly level testing. Testing typically involved unique and one-off electrical and/or mechanical systems. Oversaw the setup of test hardware and supporting hydraulic control and data acquisition systems. Developed and maintained lab-wide 3D-printing capabilities to support custom fixture fabrication. Responsible for mentoring interns and early career engineers.

Created engine curves for different types of maritime propulsion systems. Processed and analyzed data used to optimize propeller design. Studied prediction methods for resistance on different hull geometries.

Intern during summer after Junior year of college. Oversaw modal analysis and high cycle fatigue (HCF) testing on multiple types of aerospace components. Learned lab techniques as well as testing procedures. Aided in stress ratio testing of different components using strain gauges. Was also responsible for the data processing portion of the modal analysis, HCF, and stress ratio tests. Created VBA tools in Excel and PowerPoint to automate data processing.

Pratt & Whitney is an internationally renown aerospace manufacturer and is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation.Intern during summer after Sophomore year of college. Wrote extensive program in Excel VBA to analyze airfoil Quality Notifications (QNs). Program automated multiple data processing tasks as well as analyzed tolerance limits for different parameters and compared the airfoil geometry to previously analyzed QNs. Automation provided over 1000% time savings, cutting the average process time from 30 minutes to less than 3 minutes. Aided in analyzing multiple QNs while writing the program and suggested further course of action for each analyzed airfoil. Received Appreciation Award for work with the program and the time savings it created. Aided in engine test data reduction tasks throughout the summer as well.
