David is the PNW liaison to the Ernst & Young national information security team, and lead the development of a capability maturity model assessment strategy for information security, privacy, and data governance, used to refine the go to market strategy in these areas for the Ernst & Young’s Pacific Northwest Region.

One of the original members of the Microsoft Trustworthy Computing (TwC) group and key player in the development and implementation of TwC strategy and program implementation that affected large-scale corporate change in technology, software development processes, corporate tenants, and culture.Addressed business issues at the nexus of technology and policy through the development and oversight of protection strategies that moved the company in a new direction. Recruited at project inception to contribute to a start-up project in the MSN Money/Personal.Net organization as the second person hired, and saw project through to inception. Developed high-level feature synopsis, product timeline, initial costing, and staffing plans; developed and presented project concept to senior management; and recruited, interviewed, and hired key members of the Development and Program Management teams.Managed on-going relationships with strategic partners, including requirements analysis and functional design; and built relationships with other key feature teams and gained agreement for their deliverables and the schedule.Owned and developed technical and functional specifications for key service components including overall system architecture, system security design and architecture, client acquisition and enrollment, status reporting, and API/SDK design. Awarded a patent for the Programmable Calculation Engine.

Provided team leadership for the company’s home networking services as a component of Windows networking. Lead team responsible for researching, designing, and delivering a set of premium quality home networking features for Windows including the Windows XP personal firewall, Windows XP support for network bridging, Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), Windows XP ICS support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), and Windows XP alternate IP address configuration.
