As the Climate and Green Lending Specialist at Access Plus Capital, a Community Development Financial Institution offering small business loans and technical assistance, I am tasked with the development of a climate and green lending program that couples public capital with private capital to offer small businesses green solutions that work for them and prevent the emission of greenhouse gases. In response to rising governmental support at the state and federal level, green lending is an avenue to see a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and provide other community benefits that promote the resiliency of our small business ecosystem and economy. I am a graduate of California State University, Monterey Bay holding a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies. During my undergraduate experience, I served in the Associated Students as an executive officer for three years. In the roles of Vice President of Financial Affairs and President, I was the voice and face of the student body and ensured responsible spending of revenues based on student fees and philanthropy. I held fiduciary responsibility of a combined $106,056,067, provided the student perspective as the university navigated a multimillion dollar structural deficit, lobbied to secure federal funding for new academic programs relating to agriculture, and ran successful fee referendum campaigns to ensure access to services and programs on campus. I held the roles of student representative on the board of directors of the University Corporation at Monterey Bay, the Foundation of CSUMB, the Otter Student Union and served as Campus Director representing CSUMB at the California State Student Association.
