The MS-CC is nurturing a powerful alliance to improve cyberinfrastructure capabilities at historically Black colleges and universities, tribal colleges and universities, and minority-serving institutions.The Minority Serving – Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC) is a vibrant and growing community of information technology (IT) professionals, campus leaders, faculty members, researchers, and students from across our nation’s historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and tribal colleges and universities (TCUs). We are also joined by colleagues from Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs) and minority-serving institutions (MSIs), as well as leaders from regional and national organizations.The MS-CC is governed by a leadership board consisting of HBCU and TCU leaders who specialize in IT and research, and guided by the MS-CC Charter (opens in a new window). Our approach focuses on listening, building trust, and working with our campuses to lead conversations and develop sustainable solutions around cyberinfrastructure for the long term.By working together and in community, we strive to strengthen the student, faculty, and staff experience at HBCUs and TCUs by focusing on sustainable campus-level IT capabilities for data-intensive education and research programs.

The annual Summit for Artificial Intelligence Leadership (SAIL Summit) allows significant interactions, discussions, and connections among institutes’ researchers and staff. All institute collaborators will benefit by bringing key leadership at primary and sub-awardee sites and providing opportunities to showcase their research, make connections, ask questions, and share best practices and concerns. The 25 AI institutes, primarily funded by the NSF and USDA-NIFA, carry out a broad spectrum of research in critically important areas of US competitiveness, ranging from food security, public safety, education, weather, and myriad other targets.The SAIL Summit is one of many current and future manifestations of AIVO – the AI Institutes Virtual Organization. The AIVO will have as its host portal the website https://www.aiinstitutes.org. AIVO continues to develop beyond a website and the intranet portal. It will be how we can, as a community, make ourselves known to the public and to each other and improve as a group. Before and after the SAIL summits, there will be the AIVO portal and the virtual organization of the 25 diverse institutes it represents and benefits.
