Apollo Education believes in the power of young people to move culture forward. Program Pillars:• School Programs highlight the rich history of The Apollo and provide engagement in music, dance, and theater for K-12 schools. • Apollo Theater Academy provides career workforce development for young adults. • Apollo Stories is a free, educator-created, digital learning hub which seeks to ignite meaningful conversations on justice, culture, and identity in classrooms across the country. Selected Responsibilities:• Oversee the delivery of year-round education programming and activities for K-12 students and teachers, youth, and adults.• Oversee the design, planning, implementation, and assessment of our programming and events.• Work effectively with multiple teams throughout the institution offering constructive and collaborative contributions to the overall mission and goals of the Apollo.• Guide the implementation of the department’s short term and long-range goals. • Ensure that the Apollo’s educational philosophy and best instructional practices are being employed in order to achieve optimal learning outcomes for a range of stakeholders.• Manage program budgets so as to provide efficient delivery of services and ensure adherence to financial goals and objectives.• Develop partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders—particularly within the local business, NYC education, and youth development arenas.

The DWR Advisory Group is a diverse team of independent arts workers, advocates, organizers, academics, and leaders from across the field who have played a crucial role in informing Dance. Workforce. Resilience. Initiative activities this year. This cohort has provided critical feedback for the development of Dance/NYC’s upcoming "State of NYC Dance: Findings from the Dance Industry Census" report, and—alongside the DWR Network—continues to advocate for the economic needs of dance workers by cultivating a dance workforce movement. Community-Word Project is a New York City based arts-in-education organization that inspires children in underserved communities to read, interpret and respond to their world and to become active citizens through collaborative arts residencies and teacher training programs.Programming• Participate in planning for future programmatic, mission-aligned and sustainable growth of the organization with Deputy Director of Programs & Program Manager. • Manage the quality and innovation of CWP’s residency model, developing and supporting sustainable large-scale, community-centered projects. – CWP 2.0, Inside Out, Con Edison Civics• Manage and maintain annual programming goals for schools & partnerships.• Cultivate and Develop Programming• Interface and cultivate relationships with school administration, with a focus on principals and classroom teachers• Internal Program Development• Participate in project leadership of select grant initiatives for programs.Financial Oversight/Management• Manage residency supply budgets including anthology & mural budgets• Develop and advise on budgets for special projects and grants as assignedFund Development• Support development of new earned revenue sources• Participate in fundraising events such as the CWP Annual Benefit • Work with Development Manager and Development Assistant to write up program descriptions for proposals• Support Development team in organizing high-impact corporate engagement events• Assist ED, DDPO, and DA in developing relationships with local government officialsCommunications• Development/Communication (feeding information to CXO to plan communication around programs, marketing of events, sharing success, case studies, etc.)

Responsibilities included, but were not limited to:• Help establish and maintain effective relationships with the staff of partner organizations including NYC public schools and cultural organizations• Plan and design collaborative arts education programs based on needs of school partners• Oversee assigned programs to ensure quality; including program delivery, scheduling, and curriculum development.• Supervise Teaching Artist staff as it relates to their work in the school programs and parent/community workshops• Facilitate understanding of educational and artistic goals and objectives among teachers, artists, school administrators and parents.• Work with Program Director to identify and represent Community-Word Project at arts-in-education and education community eventsCWP is an arts-in-education nonprofit committed to amplifying student voice and enhancing literacy in Title I public schools through collaborative arts residencies and teaching artist training.

Born and bred in New York City, The Seven Collective is a dynamic artists'​ collective led by men of Caribbean descent dedicated to exciting and innovative work. We strive to create an environment for collaborative art rooted in our sense of community. We lead arts and team-building workshops for youth and adults, using theatre, poetry and movement to educate and entertain. TSC is committed to the global advancement of the arts through groundbreaking performance, education and outreach. • Produce, curate, direct, and act in readings, plays, festivals, exhibitions, and customized events such as our Artist Social and 7 Days of Play• Develop educational programming; Devise curricula; Lead interactive, theme-based workshops• Orchestrate programmatic partnerships; i.e. Free Arts NYC, HBO, CUNY• Manage communications with potential clients and creative partners• Create and revise digital and literary content to maintain brand integrity

Free Arts NYC provides under-served children and families with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential.• Develop curricula and lead interactive, performance-based workshops

• Harlem Gems Early Childhood After-School Program. • Support program-enabled cognitive and socio-emotional enrichment for 140+ students in Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade from two public schools. • Manage and support a staff of 30 (including DOE NYC-certified teachers, HCZ Resource teachers, Assistant teachers, Teacher's Aides, AmeriCorps Peacemakers and administrative staff).• Facilitate monthly case conference meetings among the Program Director, Educational Coordinator, Family Services Coordinator and teaching staff regarding student development and family support.• Engage in Creative Curriculum, Life-Skills Learning Approach, Emotionally Responsive Practices (ERP) and multiple assessments (Brackens, Brigance, etc.) to promote the development of the whole child.
