Designed and delivered weekly training for more than 250 community members in 17 under-served rural communities, including on emergency action plans, pandemic response operations, risk mitigation, disaster preparedness and response, and participatory planning to identify community evacuation plans and consolidation points using GIS tools. Adapted complex training programs and concepts in innovative ways to reach individuals with basic literacy levels and limited Spanish language proficiency. Organized and implemented a health commission working group to coordinate efforts between public health providers, food security specialists, local government authorities, and international donors to address food insecurity resulting from severe drought conditions.
