Broadcom acquired Symantec in November 2020. My role from Symantec continued: creating two video series: “Quick Tips” - for free on Social Media to gain conversion/leads, and “Security Awareness” for sale to large enterprises to gain compliance in the area of Security Awareness (for vendors, consultants, partners, and employees). I was a “one-man-agency” with these series, handling everything from script creation to production and post production and even appearing as the on-screen host via my remote studio (allowing me to work at any location). Direction and hands-on with all aspects of production from script development/editing, interviewing SMEs, audio/video acquisition, shooting/recording, acting as ‘on screen’ talent/host, 3D animation, motion graphics, special effects, post-production, gamification/interaction creation, packaging and distribution. Also created assets for marketing, branding elements (static and motion), brand packages for large-scale events (Las Vegas/IMAX), and broadcast media.

Started out as the only creative designer in the company and was able to expand my department to three artists, two writers, traffic manager, and six web developers, UI team, and other creatives. In addition to managing the entire creative group, I maintained a key role in creative development, from scripts and copy to web layout, graphic design, and audio/video projects. Created a series of multimedia CD-ROM titles that were used for training staff as well as a few that were designed to train partners, vendors, and clients. Created many 3D animation and motion graphics assets for online use as well as broadcast use (as well as use on IMAX screen). Hundreds of various collateral pieces were created, and I oversaw the re-branding of all corporate assets twice. In May of 2005 I created a new division within BindView to specifically address eLearning. I developed several workflows for the staff, designed the LMS structure, and directed every aspect of a video series designed to be used in on the eLearning platform.

Worked for a small advertising agency in all aspects of advertising, managing artists and writers, and reporting directly to the president. A strong knowledge of photography was required for direction on product photo shoots, as well as scanning technology and current traditional and digital printing technology. Developed a large number of photo real 3D illustrations for print, trade show, billboard, and newspaper replication, as well as illustrations, layout, design, and collateral for a wide variety of clients. Created multiple commercials (video) for regional clients (script; direction; editing; post-production).

Responsible for the design, layout, and creation of all advertising material and collateral for a mid-size industrial waterblast manufacturer. This was a combination of traditional and digital methods. A strong understanding of the technical aspect of printing (billboards, magazines, offset printing, etc.) was required, as well as a strong understanding of all applications used to create the material. Other responsibilities included the creation of several long-form videos (including live action, voiceover, 3D animation) and multiple custom trade show booths, graphics, kiosks, and supporting collateral and media. I was also responsible for maintaining a Macintosh/PC network for the marketing team.

Worked as an on-air personality at several radio stations (classical, AC, news/talk) and as a technical lead at several television studios in central Missouri. Part of my time in radio was dedicated to training University of Missouri communication students. Programming and producing show segments, bumpers, and creating broadcast advertisements for clients was a major part of my work in broadcast (including scripting, voice/character work, post-production, etc.). On-air duties included conducting interviews and the ability to host a multi-hour show.

I was listed as the youngest person to head a department segment (desktop publishing) for UMC Publications, reporting to the Director of Creative Services. Worked extensively in all areas of design, layout, copy, illustration, photography (traditional and digital) for the entire University system state-wide. Developed and maintained several interactive learning systems for medical students at the University of Missouri Medical Informatics office – interfacing VHS/Computer/LaserDisc hardware to allow for audio, graphics/photos, and video to sync with on-screen computer information designed to test medical students about various advanced topics, such as rheumatic diseases. This interactive learning development was showcased by Alan J. Bridges, M.D. and Marilyn Sanford, Ph.D., at the 11th International Conference, World Confederation for Physical Therapy, London, England; I was contracted by the Smithsonian Institution to build custom exhibits on the history of agriculture to showcase in St. Louis. I created multiple interactive CD-ROMs to demonstrate interactive learning well before CD-ROMs became popular; Designed and produced every aspect of 36 large-scale exhibits for the University, featuring custom-built panels, kiosks, interactive touch-screen presentations and multimedia slide/film/audio shows.
