In our years together, my wife and I have developed a passion for a good cup of coffee.  It’s an important part of our day and not just for that AM caffeine jolt.  It’s a time to enjoy the early morning quiet, read, catch up on the news or as an end to an evening meal.  If asked, we probably would have told you we had it figured out, that we were where we needed to be in the coffee universe.  Then we met a fellow coffee fanatic.  He roasted his own coffee beans.  Everything changed.  Soon we were roasting green coffee beans in a pan on the stove and enjoying the best coffee we had ever tasted.  We studied all things coffee.  We bought a small roaster.  We got positive feedback from friends.  We bought a larger roaster.  Our passion soon became an obsession.  Then it became a business. At Max the Roaster our goal is to bring that freshly roasted, doggone good coffee that we love, to you.  As our coffee knowledge grew so did our awareness of the need for fair financial partnerships with those that produce these wonderful beans.  We will only purchase our green beans from those importers that have established these ethical relationships with their growers.  Providing these coffee farmers with fair compensation for their hard work leads to sustainable farming practices, successful businesses, improved lives and great coffee in your cup.​One more thing.  Max is our dog.  Little did he know when we rescued him at 5 years of age he would become not just an integral part of our family but symbol for our new business venture.  When he’s not performing his official duties for Max the Roaster, LLC he’s busy just being a dog.​​​
