Acquired rights to market hardware and software offering to 7 states as a reseller of end-to-end smart grid technology solution. Helped set up proof of concept with an ethanol facility in Colorado, sourced an electrical company to install solution and initiated relationships with multiple energy cooperative managers.

Invested in cannabidiol (CBD) start up. CBD from hemp helps epileptics manage seizures. Intrinsic motivation was to help family member suffering from seizures. Responsibilities included sourcing food grade CBD hemp oil provider, identifying and securing sales pipeline for CBD oil, along with helping build a lab to process CBD oil into smaller units for delivery to customers. Target market included edible companies who required food grade material for products, with expansion plans to medical and pharmaceutical industries.

Provided recruiting services to help several industry contacts. Made numerous technical placements that provided residual income and afforded the flexibility to try my hand at investing in various entrepreneurial activities.

Joined this background investigation start-up in its infancy stage. As Executive Vice President of Sales, responsible for applying deep understanding of employment placement to develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy to drive profitable growth. During tenure, sales grew from roughly 8 orders per week to nearly 3,000 per week, generating annual revenue of more than $1 million per year. After achieving sustainable revenue and profitability thresholds in December 2007, partners mutually agreed to a buyout.

Responsible for MCI, Intel and Sun Microsystems accounts with a total book of business in excess of $25 million. Managed sales staff in 38 offices, ensuring teams were in compliance with all contractual obligations. Kept in close contact with key decision makers for all accounts, making sure Sapphire was in good standing and would attain favored status for contract renewal.

Oversaw operations of Phoenix and Portland offices. Both locations were underperforming and neither office had turned a profit when I was brought on board. Reestablished underperforming team of twelve. In the wake of September 11th, 2001 the Corporate Office out of London closed down all non-performing US offices. Based on my achievements during the turnaround of these offices, I accepted a new role in National Accounts.

Responsible for sourcing qualified candidates for open job orders. Used various job boards such as Monster and Career Builder along with referrals and reference checks to build a database of qualified information technology candidates. Additional responsibilities included staying in touch with all candidates, both active and passive on a regular basis. Eventually built up a 2,000 person database of passive candidates and was first recruiter in Atlanta office to exceed a weekly gross margin spread of $20k per week.
