As I have held this current position for nearly four years now, I have gained skillsets, knowledge and understandings that will certainly perpetuate strongly well into the next career path. This position has solidified my motivation for the success and joy in career, hard work, and the rewards of such. My primary responsibilities now are based in human resources. I must provide a healthy, safe, and constructive environment for those I oversee. I must plan for production meals and cater at varied schedules subject to change. I am responsible for creating and maintaining comfortable and efficient working spaces for them to achieve their daily objectives. It is my duty to facilitate and utilize effective and direct channels of communication to ensure the success of the projects at large and reduce static to a minimum. I’m also the facilities maintenance director, the sanitary engineer, parks and recreation, wardrobe, department of education, office of emergency services and of course the office of conflict resolution and public relations. As line-producer, the budget goes directly across my desk each week and I also have a role as purchasing and receiving agent. As much as I consider my current position the best job I’ve ever had, I hope to give my wife the opportunity to be at home with our daughter before she’s of school age.

As an investment startup, I was offered a part ownership within a highly diverse, creative, and qualified team of motivated and funded producers. Amongst other operations, Ridgeline developed and produced the first successful interactive live broadcast on Facebook, launched a broadcast platform for branded content also on Facebook, as well as produced and co-produced three full-length programs for a total of 44 edited episodes to domestic and international distribution. The immersive environment at the startup enabled and developed skills that proved immeasurable and invaluable in preparing me for the establishment and the operation in a cooperative enterprise with Final Stage Media.

At Stanford University, I was a Technical Operations term employee under the Department of Athletics. As a part of the video-board team, I regularly rotate through all aspects of live production, including camera operations, control room operations, and video board operation and transmission. As the University has one of the highest quality installations in the NCAA, I work with and operate broadcast level equipment.

Final Stage Media is a production and post-production company established by the collective work of a long time colleague and myself. From 2013 to my departure in 2017 we edited and delivered nearly 200 full-length episodes, of six separate programs, to several different distributors both domestic and international. To finance the at-home care and development of my daughter into her school years, I sold and released my financial interest in the business, yet remain involved on a contract hire basis.

My time with ICS/Playboy Entertainment began as content editor on the mid-level products and quickly proceeded into content creation and editing for the high scale product line. The position with the company gave me the professional foundations of content development, production and post-production in a high volume atmosphere. The sturdiness of the entire team in our division was unquantifiable, and that above all else was reflected in a high quality, well-respected end product. In 2010, I was given the opportunity to relocate to the home office in Chicago into a highly technical and staffed position, I declined the offer as to remain in California and seek opportunities outside of the adult entertainment industry.

At the local Fox station in Chico, I was staffed in the Master Control department. I was able to learn and perform the basics of broadcasting including programming, traffic, signal monitoring, tape and DiVX operations, as well as live sports transmissions. This allowed me knowledge of broadcast process and procedure which I would tap into when building deliverable products with Ridgeline and Final Stage Media.

Bringing with me only a knowledge in practical mechanics, I stepped into a mid-level production position in a high-volume facility. I moved quickly into a lead position in the Filtration Department, overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of more than fifty brewery tanks, up to a capacity of 118,000 gallons. I was familiarized with product consistency, cleanliness, monitoring and testing. I also learned the fundamentals of fluid transfer systems, heat exchange systems, clean-in-place systems, dry media filtration, and centrifugal separation and filtration.I also learned, in the most effective and career ending way, to remain acutely focused in a fast, high-volume production as mistakes in this realm of business are fast and costly.

My hiring at Quadco Printing was a very parallel, walk-in bindery management position for me at the time. Within a few months of coordination and reorganization I was able to increase overall efficiency in the bindery by 50%, decrease returned product by 20% and a 30% reduction in bindery staff.

The initial task I was hired to perform was that of Assistant Press Operator on their six color, 48” Heidelberg sheet-fed press. I was then cross-trained in die cutting and folder/gluer operations. Following the training I was placed as key operator in the finishing department, consecutively running two Kluege folder/gluers. The flagship product was at the time 6-pack beer carriers, as well as frozen food containers and many other types product packaging. The experience at Sierra Pacific Packaging gave me a keen understanding of large machinery operations, safety, and maintenance.

My qualified position as Maintenance Administrator with Pacific Bell, though short lived, was both technical and service oriented, working directly with customers in correcting issues or repairing fully their telecommunication services. With high-level training in circuit, line, equipment testing and analysis, I was often given commendations in performing high quality work and providing excellent customer service.

The work I performed with Davey Tree was gave me an understanding in the bases of a service oriented operation. In contrast to my work in printing producing a tangible product, the work in tree service was performing a quality service. Along with furthering my knowledge of safety and equipment operations, I also developed a long lasting appreciation for the skill of tree care.

Sierra Copy was my first full-time employer. I began at the front end with customer service and account management, and ended my five year tenure as Bindery Assistant Manager. In my time at the company I built a rigid foundation in knowledge of the commercial printing industry. I learned design and layout, press operations, and spent the majority of my career learning and understanding bindery and book making operations. My proficiencies gained from my tenure at the business allowed for ease of mobility within the printing industry.
