Worked as a manager running a 450 capacity high end venue, open from the early evening through the early hours of the morning.i was in charge of a team of 25 staff, and a team of 6 door staff whilst taking care of staff management, recruiting and training.I was heavily involved in putting on events, working with contracted promoters and DJ's/musicians in the entertainment aspect of the job.I put a lot of passion in growing and setting up a successful, 100 capacity, fully functional cocktail bar and function room. I was in charge of putting together cocktail menus and also started a regular cocktail class which we offered as a package for people organizing big nights out such as Hen dos and stag nights, birthday parties and other special occasions.I took care of most of the DIY in the building as well as maintenance of our music and sound equipment.I did a large part of the admin work necessary for the running of the business, as well as hosting most of our events, ensuring we maintained a high level of clientele to provide a great environment for our customers to enjoy.

Worked part time, whilst studying at university, as a bartender.

I set up a workshop repairing and maintaining a large variety of musical instruments, specifically guitars, bass guitars, guitar pedals and amplifiers. In the spring of 2006, I set out to start manufacturing my own instruments.Using my childhood knowledge of woodworking and extensive knowledge of the instruments I played, I set out to build my first guitar which I used regularly in my band. The instrument turned out to play very well and many other musicians took interest in what I had made and what else I had to offer. I started taking orders for custom hand made guitars and also started working with a few up and coming UK and US bands, endorsing their guitarists which helped my business grow remarkably quick.The opportunity for me to continue my studies in music abroad in the UK had to unfortunately put a pause on my guitar manufacturing venture, but i knew at the time that I was not done with education and the idea of studying and working in the music industry in the future was not to be missed.My skills in the luthier craftsmanship still remain with me and my workshop back home in Malta is still full of guitar manufacturing machinery which I will never be able to let go of as it will always be my first ever business venture.
