He also has an innate ability to apply a “systems thinking” approach to every business challenge – understanding how each functional area within the enterprise contributes to the solution. Perhaps it is not unreasonable to expect that anyone with Dave’s unique combination of deep functional expertise (i.e., Sales, Service, Operations, Product, and Finance) and management consulting experience would approach problems in this way, but it seems to come more naturally for him as if it were embedded in his DNA. Dave is also a really great guy – when he says he is going to do something, he does it. He is a straight shooter who works in good faith with internal and external parties to build positive working relationships with tangible outcomes. Equally important, he knows when to de-prioritize initiatives when the outcomes are not clear. I also admire his ability to calm and composed even under the most stressful situations. And as a part-time stand-up comic, I greatly appreciate his dry wit – some might even call it “Sahara dry”.
