In the midst of a global pandemic in the Summer of 2020, we started Lighthouse Title: a real estate title, escrow, and settlement services company based out of Suburban Maryland serving the Greater Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. We sought out to create the next generation title company platform that serves clients, referral sources, and our team members with care, kindness, and proficiency. Our motto whether related to real estate transactions, industry relationships, or helping team members grow and accomplish their goals: We guide you home. Lighthouse Title was founded on a straightforward principle: Home is a deeply personal but pivotally important place, and home means something different to almost everyone. For me, after years serving in law firm and title and real estate company executive roles, launching Lighthouse Title was all about coming home in our industry. I served as the Regional Director for Universal Title in Washington, DC as member of the Universal Title Executive Team. Based out of the Capitol Hill Office, I handled a variety of real estate transactional matters, while providing title services in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

I served as General Counsel for N.M. Management, Inc., a real estate services company and the parent company of Century 21 New Millennium. Areas of practice and responsibility included a wide variety of matters including but not limited to statutory and regulatory compliance, claims and litigation management, real estate transactional, real estate brokerage, employment law, commercial contract, vendor management, insurance vendor and policy management, commercial real estate leasing, and other general commercial and business matters.

Prior to assuming the role of General Counsel, I served N.M. Management, Inc. as Associate Corporate Counsel, focusing primarily on matters in the Suburban and Southern Maryland markets.

I served as the President and Director of Bay County Settlements, Inc., a subsidiary of N.M. Management, Inc., and the affiliated title company of CENTURY 21 New Millennium in the DC Metro Area. In this position, I directly handled title insurance and settlement business in Suburban and Southern Maryland, while providing management and business guidance for the management team and staff in other markets.

Prior to assuming the role of President at Bay County Settlements, Inc., I founded the Maryland Division of Bay County Settlements, Inc. based out of Southern Maryland and I served as the company's Director and Counsel with a primary focus on title and escrow transactions in the Suburban and Southern Maryland markets.

Potomac, Maryland

Represented and advocated for clients in transactional matters as a member of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group. My primary focus area was in advising builder and developer clients with respect to acquisition and disposition matters. Left position to return to Southern Maryland (where I grew up) to pursue opportunities closer to home.

Lexington Park, Maryland

Served as an Associate Attorney with a focus on general real estate and contract matters. Areas of practice included: real estate purchase and sale transactions (both residential and commercial), real estate leasing transaction (both residential and commercial), land use matters, title insurance and settlement matters, and general business and commercial matters. Also served as a Summer Associate from May 2010 through August 2010.

La Plata, Maryland

Served as the Judicial Law Clerk to Judge Steven Chappelle of the Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland. As a law clerk for a general jurisdiction trial court judge, I completed research and writing assignments related to a wide array of practice areas, while coordinating scheduling and other aspects related to the operation of the Judge's chambers. Judge Chappelle retired during my clerkship year, and I left the position upon confirmation of the Judge's retirement date.

Annapolis, Maryland

Served as a Legislative Aide to Delegate John Bohanan during the 2011 Maryland Legislative Session. In this position, I conducted research and writing assignments for the Delegate, while coordinating discussion with and responses to constituent requests of the Delegate's Office.
