Dave is a skilled ESG leader and business co-founder with 20+ years background in developing and delivering all elements of ESG strategy including resource efficiency, carbon reduction, circular economy, social procurement and the fundamental data and reporting systems for transparency and trust.Dave brings a wealth of experience across multiple sectors and asset classes combined with a Systems Engineering background and a passionately curious mindset. Leading a team of 10 sustainability professionals, Dave is responsible for the delivery of Mirvac’s ‘This Changes Everything’ ESG strategy across ~$35 billion assets under management including Office, Industrial, Retail and Build to Rent asset classes.As an inquisitive technologist and Chartered Engineer, Dave has been an activist for the implementation of new SMART building technologies including analytics, open source protocols, converged networks and the digital canopy. This work led to the development of SMART building standards now deployed in ~270,000m2 of office space.Dave is a member of the Better Building Partnership’s Leadership Panel and is a former Chair of their Waste Technical Working Group. He is a member of the Property Council’s Sustainability Roundtable, Energy Working Group and has contributed to several NABERS and Green Star technical groups.Key outcomes include:- Eliminating scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions nine years ahead of target- Delivered $2.5million in energy efficiency savings, creating a $40million valuation uplift- Contributed to the creation of Mirvac’s internationally acclaimed sustainability strategy, specifically the net positive carbon target, circular economy principles and B Corp certification- Delivered the first 6 Star NABERS Energy rating, two of the first 6 Star Green Star Performance ratings and drove the average portfolio NABERS rating from 3.5 to 5.3 stars- Originated a night audit program reducing out of hours energy use, conservatively estimated to have saved over $250,000 in utility costs.- Co-founded Mirvac Energy, a $2.2million business unit dedicated to drive the implementation of clean energy systems with compelling investment returns- Developed processes to support the engagement of social enterprise partners, delivering over $1million in social procurement - Presented to numerous ESG and Smart Building events including the Green Building Council’s Transform conference, Realcom’s Intelligent Building Conference (IBcon) and the CIBSE seminar series- Recognised as a 2021 Green Star Champion by the Green Building Council of Australia
