As a member of the busy communications team, I am responsible for internal and external communications and reputation management. I also manage social media for the organisation, with responsibility for more than 100 different social media accounts across many different council services. I create and deliver communications plans across a range of channels to promote the council and its work in a positive way, and I also mentor newer team members to develop their skills. Most recently, I have been heavily involved in the crisis and reputation management of Wiltshire Council after the Salisbury nerve agent attack, one of the largest local government communications projects ever undertaken.

I managed the busy SelectScience editorial team to deliver effective content marketing for a range of stakeholders and external clients. I was responsible for ensuring all of the content we produced – including emails, articles, social media, videos and the SelectScience website – is the best that it can be for both members and sponsors, to generate business success for sponsors and ensure engaging content for members. I ensured that the website was kept up-to-date and error-free, and I trained and developed team members to improve their subbing and writing skills. I also proof read and edited copy, and I commissioned and managed a team of freelancers.
