As a result of our guidance and consulting approach, while the IT environment at HCA has more than doubled in size, they achieved their target levels of service with only a 10% increase in staff sizes. -

Planned as a role similar to my role at UXC Connect, the commercial construct with the customer changed between accepting the role and commencing delivery. As a result I chose not to remain in that position once the initial contract was complete.Highlight: At HP I created a blueprint for the energy trading environment at Origin Energy, a 24x7 operation calling for high availability and full system DR. As a result of this design effort, Origin Energy was able to commence the integration of 108 applications, spreadsheets and custom databases into just 18 highly available and replicated applications, reducing system complexity and delivering the first generation of energy trading system with full cross-datacentre DR capability. -
Senior ConsultantUxc Connect (Previously Getronics Australia) Sep 2004 - Apr 2011As a Senior Consultant and Solutions Architect, my role was to propose, scope and cost projects for customers, and when successful, provide the technical guidance and project leadership to either UXC Connect project teams or customer project teams (as appropriate for the project). We delivered short projects ranging from small single site, single product deployments through to multi-year contracts transforming entire ICT environments for global customers with thousands of endpoints and hundreds of sites.This role combined presales and delivery. I scoped many of the engagements and contributed to or wrote the proposals that I delivered (either alone or with a team of colleagues).Highlight: At UXC Connect I led the team which designed, built and implemented a complete ICT transformation from Lotus Notes, Novell NetWare and supporting technologies such as ZenWorks, to the Microsoft technology stack including Active Directory, Exchange and Configuration Manager.

Senior ConsultantPraxa Limited May 1996 - Sep 2004Originally employed as a Systems Engineer in 1996, strong project delivery and technical skills, combined with consistently setting and achieving company and personal milestones enabled me to progress quickly through Senior Systems Engineer and the more junior Consultant roles. For the last three years of my tenure I was the most senior technical consultant in Microsoft technologies within the NSW region with a focus on Messaging and Collaboration.This role was originally a delivery only role, but subsequent reorganisations and promotions resulted in a role which combined presales and delivery. I helped scope many of the later engagements and wrote, or contributed to proposals that I delivered (either alone or as part of a team of colleagues).Highlight: During my sojourn at Praxa I was one of two leads on a team which delivered the second largest Exchange Server environment (1.3M users and 2.3M Exchange objects), and built a complete ISP (including email, hosted services, custom single sign-on, delegated provisioning and customised web portals) under budget and in just ten months from initiation to final delivery. As a result the prime contractor was able to rescue the project and deliver despite initially being behind schedule and without a clear plan for design and implementation.
