Overhaul electrical air compressors. Replace electric traction motors. Replace rail car electrical air brake valves. Diagnose and repair electrical door operators and control modules. Repair interior components such as seats, windows, floors, and wall panels. Operate bridge cranes. Operate train cars in and out of the shop. Operate train car hoists. Operate wheel lathe for cutting train wheels. Operate drill press. Use several different types of pneumatic air tools. Respond to defective trains on the main line. Collaborate with other trades to provide safe reliable train cars for operation. Performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses equipment malfunctions and make appropriate repairs. Manage mechanical crews in the maintenance and repair of the transit car fleet. Manage welders, machinist, and tool makers in Equipment department. Verify all maintenance paperwork is filled out properly. Update transit car status for load line and communicate with other departments.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and SAP.
