SMFG Nimba Iron Ore Joint Venture - London

• Senior manager in the pre-feasibility study team for the Nimba Iron Deposit located in Guinea. Responsible for drill program planning, geological data collection, geological interpretation and resource modelling
• Rectified a major assaying precision issue which otherwise would have excluded 30% of the resource from the required JORC classification
• Managed the work schedule to ensure delays in the drilling program did not impact on the delivery of resource models essential to complete the pre-feasibility study and board approval deadlines
• Identified and simulated elevated contaminant content in early production periods which reduced the risk of shipments being rejected by customers

• Implemented geometallurgical modelling of the chrysocolla-rich zones in the oxide mineralisation which allowed mine and processing plans to take account of this problematic material in the heap leach

France

Mines d’Or de Salsigne operated both an underground and an open pit gold mine near Carcassonne in the south of France. I was contracted to produce a solid model of the underground mineralisation and to produce an estimate of the remaining resources using SURPAC.

Ghana

Reunion Mining PLC was a London-based company formed to explore and develop African mineral resources. It operated the Sanyati heap leach copper mine in Zimbabwe and numerous exploration projects including the Chirano Gold project in Ghana.Exploration Manager – Chirano Gold ProjectResponsible for all the exploration activities on the Chirano Gold project.
