Provide assistance to internal information technology team and expertise to the firm’s executives in the areas of risk management, information security, strategic planning and project management. The goals were to provide assistance during the search and transition to a new Chief Information Officer. This was a short term position, following my resignation, to assist Constangy, Brooks & Smith during the transition to the new head of Information Technology and Security.

Provided executive leadership to corporate information technology and security strategy; managed four direct reports, oversaw all aspects of information security and operations. Managed $2M - $2.5M budget. Other responsibilities included project management, disaster recovery planning and business continuity planning.- Developed a long term strategic plan to move the firm from on premise model to a secure hosted model. The transition to secure hosted model allowed the Firm to meet its business goal of getting to information “anytime, anywhere, on any device”, thus allowing the legal staff to be more responsive to clients (2013) - Worked with executive management to analyze and develop a risk management strategy that aligned with business goals (2013)- Designed and implemented a defense-in-depth security strategy. This strategic plan included internal and external security controls, physical security controls and the creation of security policies based on the business goals (2012)- Designed and installed centralized access control systems for the firm’s 26 locations providing audit trails and multi-level security (2008-2013)- Enhanced network security and availability through secure wireless, network authentication and zoning (2012)- Improved security of personally identifiable information (PII) through implementing administrative, technical and physical controls (2010)- Directed network assessment team responsible for protecting networks by identifying and correcting internal and external vulnerabilities (2010) - Developed a successful strategic technology plan. Prior to this time the firm had no strategic direction in technology spending and operated in a reactionary mode. The plan allowed for better positioning, budgeting and strategy to migrate to more current technology (2003)

Independent technology and management consultant for Clients such as Cycleworks, Inc. and D. Scott Murray, PC on projects such as network design, security and disaster recovery / business continuity planning.

Served as consultant to several of the top 250 law firms in the United States advising clients on security policies, security architecture, operations security, business continuity / disaster recovery planning and network / telecommunications security. FirmLogic ceased business operations in Atlanta in 2001.

Oversaw all aspects of technology and security operations; $5 million budget management and leading a team of 16. Key director in business continuity and disaster recovery planning project; managed operational security of networks and telecommunications systems; oversaw compliance of systems and data to legal regulations.
