I'm a key developer and manager of SMX RTOS. For the past few years, I have been the co-developer of SecureSMX, our secure RTOS. It uses the Memory Protection Unit of the MCU to achieve isolated partitions to separate kernel, middleware, and application components. Partitioning isolates critical code, data, and I/O to greatly increase the security of a system and allows focusing secure coding efforts on the most critical partitions. Externally, I work closely with our OEM customers to assist in their project definition and development. This begins with their initial contact as prospects, through their entire product lifecycle. In the beginning, I advise them and help refine their plan. Once they are working with our software, I help with kernel and tool support and direct our engineering team to assist with their specialties. We put our customers ahead of our own development schedule.Technical AccomplishmentsFor many years, I developed the x86 and ColdFire versions of SMX. I eventually ported it to the ARM and ARM-M (Cortex-M) architectures, each a challenge. As part of this, I supported various compiler toolchains and defined and implemented our BSP framework to handle these different architectures. I did the same for the overall structure of our RTOS, how kernel and middleware are organized. In the early years, I ported various third-party middleware to SMX, and later I managed development of our own middleware, as well as smxAware and other tools.
