With over 25 years of post-qualification experience as a solicitor-advocate, with post-graduate degrees in Counter-Fraud and Counter-Corruption (Portsmouth), and International Relations, espionage and surveillance (King's College London), I now operate in four broad sectors:MEDIATION: I offer my services as an independent mediator (not yet in family matters), as an avenue of Alternative Dispute Resolution, also known as Non-Court Based Dispute Resolution, to those who are not, or who have never previously been clients of mine. I have participated in far more mediations, than I have, trials. It is cost-effective, and commercial common-sense to seek compromise. Indeed, the Courts expect and require the parties to engage, whatever their perceptive strength of case. DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND FAMILY LAW: I have developed a reputation for being a fearless, strategic, commercial litigator, specializing in counter-fraud and counter-corruption in a number of fields including contentious probate and trusts, and business fraud. I have represented clients in high-profile and complex cases, including matrimonial and financial disputes, defamation and contractual matters, achieving successful outcomes and developing case law in various fields of law.ACADEMIA: I am passionate about legal education and research, and I currently hold the position of Professor of Professional Practice at Brunel University London, where I lecture on a weekly basis. I am a member of the ACFE Advisory Council, and have authored multiple publications/blogposts on fraud, deceit, and privacy. My mission is to use my expertise and skills to fight fraud and corruption, and to empower and inspire the next generation of lawyers with strong foundations in morals and ethics.FRAUD EXAMINATION: I have conducted numerous management consultant reports to assess, identify and highlight points of potential vulnerability in business in terms of counter-fraud and counter-corruption including providing strategy to close any weakness with better systems and checks including writing or else strengthening current systems, and policies.
