A leading supplier of photovoltaic solar panels. The Billerica operation was vertically integrated, manufacturing one of the largest and most powerful solar modules starting with raw silicon.Starting at Schott as Director of Engineering, there were a number of successful government R&D programs, technology exchanges with our German colleagues and ongoing continuous improvement programs focused on technology, processes and equipment.Moving into the Operations role, the team achieved significant successes in an ever challenging marketplace. Reduced manufacturing costs almost 20% through a combination of yield, efficiency, supplier and workflow management improvements. Ramped factory production capacity from 6 MW/ Yr to the theoretical facility capacity of 15 MW/ yr in approximately nine (9) months. Achieved consistent, positive business results through May of 2009.Ultimately, the facility was closed due to strategic realignment and the continued decline in module pricing.

Planned and executed the electromechanical engineering to improve and sustain the Summit XT, 300mm RTP platform. Coordinated supporting software upgrades and field service implementations. Successfully met schedule, budget and process performance goals. Set and maintained high standards for ROI justification, engineering analysis, documentation, cross functional reviews, testing and deployment to customers.

Implemented new product development programs and overall product (sustaining) engineering activity for the MDP division. Programs extended from Concept and Feasibility (C&F) to manufacturing pilot phases and customer Beta programs utilizing multidisciplinary engineering core teams in a Concurrent Product Development (CPD) environment.Establishing and driving cross functional teams is a critical aspect of MKS product development and a core business strength.Products developed or released by my team while at MKS included the first generation Flow Ratio Controller, Delta I, second generation Vapor on Demand Module, VoDM B and enhancement releases of the flow verifier, Tru-Flo and several Alta line Mass Flow Controllers.

Developed innovative process hardware advancements for diffusion and LPCVD reactors. Optimization of furnace heaters, thermal management systems, gas delivery, vacuum systems and more. Extensive interactions with marketing, field service and customers.
