David Saltman is a successful executive, cleantech entrepreneur and leading advocate of environmental innovation and sustainable business development. He is currently Chairman and CEO of INCA Renewable Technologies. INCA’s mission is to be a world leader in the development, commercialization and manufacturing of innovative bio-composite materials for a wide range of industrial applications. INCA's product development partners are Toyota, Genesis, Winnebago and Gurit. David also co-founded the Okanagan Sustainability Leadership Council and is its current Chairman, and is also a corporate advisor to Pela Case and Green Step Solutions.Prior to moving to Canada he was Chairman and CEO of Malama Composites, manufacturers of rigid urethane foams made from non-toxic, bio-based resources. The products were used in everything from boat hulls to wind turbine blades, Hollywood movie sets to medical devices. They received many awards including “Most Innovative Green Product of the Year” from the Society of Plastics Engineers. Formerly, Saltman was CEO of Open Energy Corporation, creators of the first building integrated photovoltaic roofing tiles and roofing membranes. Open Energy created the solar glass atrium surrounding the Academy of Science Museum in San Francisco, designed by Renzo Piano. Prior to this he served as CMO of Flexform Technologies, the first natural fiber composites company in North America. Flexform’s products enable engineers at Ford, GM, Chrysler and Tesla to produce automotive interiors that are stronger, lighter, and far more easily recycled than glass reinforced plastics. Saltman served on the Presidential Task Force that developed green procurement guidelines for the US government. He has received awards from the American Marketing Association, the National Recycling Coalition, and the American Composites Manufacturing Association. He is a co-founder of CleanTECH San Diego, and served as Executive Director of the Surfrider Foundation, which won the largest Clean Water Act lawsuit in US history. Saltman is a graduate of UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, and was a co-founder of the E! Entertainment Network which was sold to Time Warner prior to his embarking on a cleantech career.
