David S. Chen is the Managing Partner of Sevva Capital Partners and is responsible for leading all investment and business initiatives of the firm. He has almost 2 decades of investing experience and successful track record across distressed debt, special situations financing, and private credit.Most recently, he was a founding partner of a global credit hedge fund that is seeded by Sun Hung Kai & Co. Limited, a US$6.2B alternative asset investor that incubates emerging hedge fund managers.Prior 3 years, he was a trader and ran research at BFAM Partners, a US$4.5B multi-strategy hedge fund where he built out the 7-member team that invests in distressed debt, special situations financing, and private credit for the 2.3bn Credit Strategy portfolio.He began his career as a distressed debt analyst and invested across the capital structure in various cyclical/commodities industries at Deutsche Bank for 11 years where he was Head of Research and led the Special Situations Group, a US$4.2B Principal trading desk that originates, invests, and syndicates distressed debt, private credit structured financing, private equities, and NPL portfolios.
