After studying Philosophy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, David Schugar entered the casino gaming industry in 1975. Working his way from casino dealer into more challenging administrative positions, David Schugar quickly established a notable career in casino gaming. David Schugar has worked throughout the country, from Indiana to Las Vegas, at establishments including the Hacienda Hotel & Casino, the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino, the Sahara Hotel and Casino, MotorCity Casino Hotel, the Gold Strike Casino and Resort, and others. Most recently, David Schugar joined The Majestic Star Casino LLC, where he served as the Vice President and General Manager for the Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi, and Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Majestic Star Casinos & Hotel in Gary, Indiana. In 2005, David Schugar founded Equity Gaming, LLC, which specializes in the creation of casino table games and electronic gaming applications.Over the course of his career, David Schugar has dedicated himself to making positive contributions to the success of the casino gaming industry. For example, David Schugar was the first casino representative to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement for U.S. casino dealers during his time at the MotorCity Casino Hotel. As a result of his efforts, employment contracts now feature important pay-for-knowledge compensation programs and various performance standards. David Schugar has also acted as the as President of the Tunica Casino Operators Association and served on the Founding Board and Advisory Board of the Casino Managers Association.
