David is a creative film and television director, producer, CEO, engaging speaker, explorer and Chairman of the Schurmann Company.Best known for directing "Little Secret" the internationally successful movie selected to represent Brazil at the Oscars in 2017. David demonstrated his passion for telling stories and cinema at the early age of 13, while filming the incredible expeditions of the Schurmann Family around the world. His award-winning work such as “Magellan Global Adventure”, “Expedition to the Orient” "The World in Two Round Trips" and "The Search for U-513” have been screened around the world on Globo TV, Netflix, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, TNT, ZDF amongst others. He also has directed branded content and advertising for brands such as Samsung, Johnson & Johnson, Daycoval Bank, Camil and Plymouth Gin amongst others.In 2017 David and his family founded and after four years development, in August 29th 2021 officially launched Voice of the Ocean. A worldwide initiative, focused in tackling plastic pollution in the oceans, that includes a Nautical Expedition (started in August 2021), a Scientific Project, an Open Innovation Program and an Educational Project. With the global support of the UN Program for the Environment (UNEP), the initiative searches for innovative solutions and raises awareness around the world, inviting people to commit to taking transformational actions.With an in depth experience in structuring international projects, film productions and expeditions in more than 64 countries, he continues to lead, develop, produce and direct engaging and exciting projects. David is fluent in four languages.
