One of my main goals was to reduce the inventory we carried to improve our inventory turn and reduce our overall inventory by nearly 20% annually. This was accomplished by working with vendors on methods to quickly get products, developing a standard inventory for our service trucks, and consolidating warehouses.Another area of responsibility was our vehicle fleet; including acquisition, disposal and maintenance. My first accomplishment was developing a fleet maintenance database where we could track that preventive maintenance was being done consistently as well as tracking repairs. By integrating data from our fleet fuel program we also tracked MPG and mileage by vehicle. This gave us a much better picture of the condition of our fleet. Another achievement was negotiating a capital lease program that reduced our cash flow significantly for vehicle acquisitions. As part of my vendor management responsibility, I evaluated new technologies. In the course of this, we created an international joint venture to develop a remotely monitored video software platform with an overseas technology company. I was named CEO of this new entity and was given credit on a patent for the end product.
