I was hired to lead the team developing and implementing educational programs for 20+ Job Corps centers operated by MTC under contract with the US Department of Labor. After undergoing a company restructuring in 2020, I led a larger team to support educational and behavioral programs at both Job Corps centers and 30+ correctional facilities operated by MTC under contract with state and federal agencies. I also contributed to MTC's 5-year strategic plans, helped set corporate goals, and led leadership development training.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:✓ PROGRAM EXPANSION VIA GOVERNMENT FUNDING: Secured $6.25M in state appropriations and federal grant funding. Co-wrote proposal attaining $2.25M from the Florida Legislature to introduce 4 new programs (coding, behavior management, social emotional learning, and re-entry support) at correctional facilities. Won $4M in grant funding from the US Department of Labor to create new coding programs and new data science math curriculum for Job Corps centers.✓ EDUCATION PROGRAM TRANSFORMATION: Implemented new academic framework focused on evidence-based behavior management and instructional practices. Implemented the Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS) framework. Raised one Job Corps center’s national ranking from 110/125 to 50/125 in 2 years.✓ ENHANCED INSTRUCTIONAL QUALITY: Created common literacy and math curricula for all facilities and added GED prep curricula in 2024. ✓ CORPORATE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Upskilled MTC employees by developing 50+ corporate learning pathways and courses via Articulate 360 and Oracle Learn. Designed and delivered leadership development training and coaching.✓ EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY: Modernized the Job Corps and correctional classrooms by developing a classroom observation app to enhance the instructor feedback process and led pilot of the Blackboard learning management system.

Signed 10 new contracts and renewed several existing contracts.✓ BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Ideated and co-wrote bill to fund coaching and consulting turnaround services for underperforming schools, resulting in $8M annual appropriation. Firm was selected as one of a handful of turnaround consulting services providers and contracted with multiple districts and schools. Nearly 90% of the schools that first entered the turnaround program in 2015 had significantly improved and met exit criteria by 2019.✓ EDUCATION INNOVATION: Conducted a study for the Utah System of Higher Education funded by the Gates foundation to examine the feasibility of developing and implementing a common college application and portal for Utah public colleges and universities. Helped Denver Public Schools build their capacity to use data to measure and improve student achievement.

I was recruited to carve out and lead a new school district (34K students, 45 schools, $200M+ operating budget) resulting from a citizen referendum. I led 7 direct reports and indirectly managed 200+ district office employees and 4K+ FTE in the schools. Innovated new district’s organizational structure, hiring the first Chief of Staff and Chief Communications Officer and creating an Evidence-Based Learning department. Prepped all employees in less than 9 months for first school year.✓ FUNDRAISING TO IMPROVE SCHOOLS: Led funding strategy, successfully attaining $250M in a bond election without raising property taxes. Enabled the construction or renovation of 12 schools.✓ OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY: Optimally aligned student population to facilities with new school boundaries for the district and a grade realignment strategy moving grade 6s to middle school and grade 9s to high school.✓ CULTURE OF NONDISCRIMINATION: Took swift, corrective actions after a series of racial incidents at a district high school. Represented the district in the media and implemented district-wide diversity and nondiscrimination training, ✓ ENHANCED STUDENT OUTCOMES: Instituted the first differentiated high school diplomas in Utah, encouraging students to take a more rigorous course of study.✓ TECHNOLOGY & DATA ENHANCEMENTS: Led tech-forward enhancements including creating the District’s first online high school, tech-ready classrooms, and implementing the district’s first data dashboard to track student outcomes.
