GRANTS MANAGEMENT• Led the strategic distribution of grant funds on behalf of the Alcoa Foundation, BNY Mellon, The Heinz Endowments/The Pittsburgh Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts• Managed four grant programs that awarded funds annually to artists, community organizations, and arts nonprofits across ten countiesFUNDRAISING/DEVELOPMENT• Assisted the Deputy Director with grant writing and reporting, including successful proposals to The Heinz Endowments, the Laurel Foundation, the Alcoa Foundation, the Allegheny Regional Asset District, and othersEVENT PLANNING• Designed, planned and implemented an annual PA Partners Awards Ceremony, in which nearly twenty legislators present grant checks to 100 grantees over breakfast• Managed production logistics, venue design and aspects of marketing for the 2007 and 2009 Work of Art Awards, a biennial awards ceremony attended by 400 arts leaders• Assisted the Director of Arts Programs to develop fifty professional development workshops and forums each year, designed to equip and inform local artists and arts administratorsRESEARCH• Worked with the Consortium of Small Arts Funders, a group of foundation program officers, to identify and discuss current research about the arts industry• Launched a research RFP in March 2011 to analyze arts nonprofits with budgets <$2MPROGRAM MANAGEMENT • Administered the Business Volunteers for the Arts / Volunteer Lawyers for the arts, which help artists and arts nonprofit organizations solve business and legal challenges. Under my leadership, the program saw a 100% increase in the number of business consulting hours volunteered. • Recruited, trained and managed a pool of 170 business and legal professionals, placing them in short-term, pro bono consulting projects with nonprofit organizations • In 2011, seventy-six professionals gave 591 hours to 76 clients, an in-kind value of $98,147
