San Francisco Bay Area

• Worked with the Diagnostics and Prognostics group under Intelligent Systems at the NASA Ames Research Center.
• Accelerated a C++ lithium-ion battery prognostic model, using OpenMP and CUDA parallel programming libraries.
• Ran battery prognostic model on the NASA Pleiades supercomputer, yielding a 1218.27% performance increase with OpenMP and a 905.46% performance increase with CUDA (i7 Ivy single core vs. i7 Ivy 16 core and Tesla K40.
• Used OpenMP to improve prognostic Monte Carlo prediction performance within Diagnostic and Prognostics' flagship application, GSAP.
• Monte Carlo predictor saw significant performance increases on critical embedded systems; 234.2% on NVIDIA Jetson and 221.9% on Raspberry Pi.
• Wrote and published a technical memorandum under the NASA Science and Technical Information program on GPU/CPU hybrid programming strategies.

Ottawa, Canada Area

• Worked with the Configuration Management component of the 6500 Packet-Optical Platform. Primarily used C, C++, TCL, and Python.
• Developed the Automation Framework for Ciena Licensing software using TCL, Python and Atlassian Bamboo.
• Led a presentation for the Licensing team on how to continue development on the Automation Framework.
• Presentation was recorded and shared company-wide as an example on how to use Ciena’s automation stack.
• Set up a proxy service to allow simulated network elements on workstations to reach external license servers.
• Eliminated a max 98 second delay from a high priority VxWorks task in C, caused by lengthy application callbacks.
