David Stanoch has been playing drums professionally since he landed his first gig, subbing in the pit orchestra for the Chimera Theatre’s production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” in St. Paul, MN, at age 12 - after he’d been playing drums for only two years. Since then he has mined a truly eclectic professional musical performance resume that includes work with internationally recognized artists from jazz, rock and R&B music as well as stars from Broadway, motion pictures and television including Hiram Bullock, Sheryl Crow, Richard Davis, Scott Henderson, Freedy Johnston, Stanley Jordan, Keb' Mo, The Minnesota Orchestra, The New Kids On The Block, Bernard Purdie, Bonnie Raitt, Don Rickles, Doc Severinsen, Bobby Shew, Martin Short, Ben Sidran, Clyde Stubblefield, Timbuk 3, Butch Vig and The Supremes' Mary Wilson. Current regional performance includes work with artists Axis Mundi, Marv Dahlgren, Shaun Johnson Big Band Experience (for whom he also serves as Musical Director), Ellen Lease/Pat Moriarty Quintet, Boyd Lee & the Steamrollers, Paul Metsa & the Whiskey Jacks, Randy Sabien, Sometimes Y, and Kristin Sponcia, as well as his own Rhythmelodic Social Aid & Pleasure Club ensembles.

Founded in 1999, Rhythmelodic was launched as an independent record label to promote the live and recorded musical work of David Stanoch and singer/songwriter Katy Tessman. David has co-produced three critically acclaimed CD releases on his Rhythmelodic Records label - Day & Age, and the self-titled debut from TRIPLICATE (nominated for two 2001 Minnesota Music Awards), and Katy Tessman’s debut CD, Fall). He composed and arranged music for all three releases as well. More recently he co-produced the CD, Thought vs. Emotion, by Frankhouse.Rhythmelodic expanded to focus also on David’s educational and humanitarian work. This work includes the initial self-publication of David’s drumset method book, Mastering the Tables of Time, Vol. I, which was released to instant critical acclaim in 2008. The book was voted "Winner: #1 Educational Book" in the Modern Drummer 2009 Readers Poll and is now distributed worldwide, in partnership with Rhythmelodic, by Alfred Music Publishing.Humanitarian efforts Rhythmelodic has undertaken include co-producing the MinneNOLA Hurricane Relief Concert & Dance: A Benefit for the Musicians of Louisiana, in 2005, a one-day event that raised approximately $10,000 in relief support for Gulf Coast musicians and families affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In 2010, David, with drummers Stanton Moore and Johnny Rabb, co-founded The Coalition for Clyde Stubblefield to assist Clyde, known world-wide as "the world's most-sampled drummer,” from his groundbreaking work with James Brown, who continues to perform through weekly dialysis treatments after suffering kidney failure in July 2009. The effort has raised over $13,000 for Clyde. On January 14, 2012, David and world-renowned percussionist Marvin Dahlgren organized a Global Drummer Alliance to raise awareness to the world hunger epidemic, staging a Hunger Beat Down event in which over 13,000 drummers performed simultaneously worldwide.

A dedicated educator, David Stanoch served for 27 years on the faculty of McNally Smith College of Music, in St. Paul, MN, since 1990. A founding member of the school’s Percussion Department in their Musical Performance division, David helped create the curriculum, along with department head Gordy Knudtson, for the classes taught. David also taught private lessons on campus and promoted outreach for the school as part of his work as an internationally in-demand drumset clinician.
