As the Chief Information Security Officer, I drive a global program spanning North and South America, EMEA and APAC. My group covers Cyber Security Risk Management, Security Operations & Engineering and Threat Operations. We implement leading edge protection technologies, cutting edge security analytics and are at the forefront of a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

BGC Partners is a leading global brokerage company servicing the financial and real estate markets. Products include fixed income securities, interest rate swaps, foreign exchange, equities, equity derivatives, credit derivatives, commercial real estate, commodities, futures, and structured products. BGC also provides a wide range of services, including trade execution, broker-dealer services, clearing, processing, information, and other back-office services to a broad range of financial and non-financial institutions. As Global Head of Information Security, I am responsible for the direction and execution of the worldwide information security program.

Reporting to the Global CISO, established the Global Information Security Architecture function for the NYSE, responsible for the design of security controls across all infrastructure projects. Developed and executed the strategy to move past commoditized security controls and the adoption of an application security program with global reach that encompassed personnel, training, and tools. This program aimed to reduce risk by influencing all aspects of the SDLC covering requirements definition, software security, static and dynamic testing, and penetration testing.

Reporting to the Global Chief Information Security Officer and responsible for all US infrastructure and application security design. Major accomplishments included the introduction of Global DDoS protection, MSSP for perimeter monitoring, resilient DNS, APT protection, and secure wireless access. Developed the security architecture for three state of the art data centers and led the security efforts around migrating 4 data centers into these $250 million assets.• Served as the representative of the Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the NYSE when dealing with business and technical related issues.• Cooperated with peers in Belfast, Paris, London, and Chicago. Personally drove together globally diverse information security teams to work for a common cause.• Responsible for identifying the next generation of security threats and emerging technologies.• Supported the development of the annual strategic security roadmap.• Maintained subject matter expertise in the areas of the business and supporting applications and infrastructure to ensure an agile defense in depth posture.• Lead the creation of Information Security Architecture and Standards.• Co-developed the global SDLC to ensure Infosec decision-making authority across all phases of development.• Developed a green-field global application security function that encompassed personnel, training, and tools.• Served as the single point of contact to the business for consulting on matters such as sales support, compliance and design.• Liaised with Federal law enforcement and Homeland Security for matters related to critical infrastructure protection.Maintain Secret Level clearance.

The New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) oversees the City's use of existing and emerging technologies in government operations, and its delivery of services to the public. DoITT works to improve the government's efficiency through technology, and to make communication with the government straightforward and clear.In this position, I report to the CISO of NYC. I directly manage Security Engineering, Security Operations, Vulnerability Management and Incident Response. In this role, I lead a teams that plan, design, implement, and operate security infrastructure that serves 300,000 employees and 10 million citizens.

Responsible for the expansion, integration, and maturation of the B&N Corporate Information Security Program.

Clients included; leading provider of derivatives market technologies, global news organization, international sports organization, Fortune 500 food an insurance companies, global automobile manufacturer, Fortune 50 financial institution, and Fortune 100 manufacturing company.

Championed the use of Linux and other Open Source security and infrastructure systems. Moving away from Sun and Netscape commercial software saved the organization hundreds of thousands of dollars over a 3 year period.
