I know I don't look like your typical recent college grad, but here we are!I was recently able to return to and complete (for now) my college education; it was a lifelong ambition and I’m immensely grateful for the support that saw me through it. Though I can count it as an accomplishment, I am not the sole owner of it.At Oregon State, I was encouraged to apply the lens of my background in philosophy, as well as my passion for literature, to the issues we currently face in conservationism and environmental stewardship. There are some excellent thinkers on environmental philosophy at OSU that I am privileged to have studied under for my Bachelor of Philosophy, and I’m equally indebted to the writing department for my Minor in Writing and a place to have and hone these conversations.That said, I am eager to get outdoors, give back to this paradise of a PNW that I get to call home, and lend my unconventional background and skillset to a place that values the kind of creativity, critical thinking, and passion for environmental ethics that I bring.There’s so much happening in these spaces—I can’t wait to see the amazing things you’re all doing in this meaningful changemaking, and I am excited to contribute!
