I'm pleased to announce my move to NCR Corporation, working within the financial solutions product management team.

Having managed the development and delivery of the first new product range in Cashmaster for eight years, I was offered this role to further strengthen the Product & Marketing team and support new product initiatives. I am the departmental link between the technical aspects of our products and the end-user, providing commercial and technical support to all business departments.Main duties include:• Developing an ongoing strategy for company product portfolio that builds on areas of commercial opportunity and ensures long-term growth and maximum return on investment • Enhancing the value proposition of company products• Representing the company at industry events• Liaising with customers; established pilot / trials process• Supported establishment of new Asian business headquarters• Technical sales support for Asian sales initiatives• Providing product training and support to internal/external sales and marketing teams• Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to ensure opportunities are identified and realised• Evaluation of new technologies in relation to product portfolio opportunities• Contributing to content for sales and marketing collateral• Company product ‘champion’ and ‘voice of the customer’

In 2014, Cashmaster changed hands through a management buy-in. I was offered the opportunity to manage the specification and development of a new count-by-weight product range. A complex project which required the management of colleagues across all business functions and external stakeholders.Main duties included:• Project-managed new product development initiative, from conception to delivery• Definition of product range functionality and variant feature matrix• Management of software and hardware engineering team• Conceptual product design: hardware & user interface• Supplier evaluation and procurement• NPD supply chain management• Reported directly to managing director and company chairman• Regular reporting and presentations to management team• Supported global launch activities

Responsible for bringing the company into line with industry-standard IT practices including data backups, IT asset management, internal helpdesk system, consolidation of email services. I also managed the ongoing development of the internal company database system.The last major project in this role involved the migration to a virtualised server environment, Office 365 cloud-based business email services, and installation of a unified Cisco-based VoIP telephony platform.Main duties included:• Management of company network infrastructure including international offices• Management and maintenance of company IT assets• IT product and service procurement• Management of company IT helpdesk and asset management system• Management of company-wide communications system utilising digital signage• Project management of internal database software development• Administration of Active Directory environment• Supporting Sales & Marketing activities• Management of distance learning program, using an in-house Moodle CMS• Graphic design and audio/video editing

Developed bespoke automotive PC hardware & software platform for use in advertising. A headrest mounted touchscreen allowed passengers to browse content such as news, weather, video clips and a full localised advertising directory and also download vouchers to their mobile handsets via Bluetooth.At Tapinto I was tasked with designing and implementing a transport-based advertising system. This involved defining the hardware platform and software functional specification. I hand-built development systems then sourced and managed external companies for supply and production. I managed a small external software development team and provided hardware support when required, ensuring the project was delivered on time and within budget. Once the product was complete, I represented the company at various international trade fairs, demonstrating the system and providing information on both technical and commercial aspects of the product.Main duties included:• Management of all technical aspects of the business• Design of technical product including hardware and software• Management of external technical resources• Purchasing• Technical documentation• Internal procedures• Company IT and asset management• Graphic Design / GUI Design / Digital Signage Content Creation• Supplier contract negotiation, SLA management

I was initially employed to work with the in-house software engineer to maintain the development fleet of thirty field systems. This required day-to-day operations management, equipment tests, repairs and ongoing development work. I then went on to re-spec a production version of the system for a national rollout. For this, I had to design and build a new platform and manage further software development. Additionally, I had to write and maintain documentation, develop installation procedures, procure suitable sites for our WLAN update areas and train third party installation teams. My team managed ongoing technical operations, including monitoring log files, scheduling installations and repairs, purchasing components and manufacturing systems.I was also responsible for the ingestion and scheduling of content for playback on the systems.
