As someone who loves learning, it is genuine joy to guide students through their studies.

As a passionate bibliophile and self-directed learner, I excel in assisting others to find answers. For, me this role isn't just about selling. It's about ensuring that the customer leaves the store with the book they needed to buy.

Imagine riding the bike paths of inner-city Brisbane with new friends while acquainting them with the history of the river city. Later in the day, your group makes a stop in one of the parks dotting the river to share a picnic and swap stories before riding back to Southbank. This is my life as a bicycle tour guide. I tutor students in English.

In this role I taught students the how to locate and critique information sources. In particular, we examined medical research. Students used the college library resources as their starting point. The extra input I provided was how to use social media, RSS feeds, podcasts, and blogs as part of personal learning network. I also taught them how to critique and assess these online sources for validity and relevance.

I had the pleasure of teaching mainly science subjects (anatomy & physiology, clinical medicine) while employed at the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences. In order to encourage students to discover and use valid and reliable online resources, I set up a closed anatomy & physiology group on Facebook. Students were invited to share any online resource, which they believed useful, with the rest of the group. I also taught students how to conduct online searches and how to assess and critique those resources.

I was engaged by this college to teach two of their medical science subjects.

This was a short contract where my combined skills as a writer and science communicator were used to produce the content for the anatomy and physiology component of an online course.

Part of the condition of completing my masters requires that I participate in fieldwork placements. I was fortunate that the library at the Endeavour College of Natural Health was willing to accommodate me. During the time I spent there, I fulfilled the standard operations of working in a library such as assisting staff and students with enquiries, locating resources, and using equipment. I also spent time on the circulation desk and shelved items. Being an academic library, I was involved in critiquing software from a user perspective that, at some point in the future, was to be used by the students. As a result of this, I not only wrote a critique but extra instructions for the use of the software. The remaining part of my fieldwork placement was spent sourcing and assessing online video tutorials to be used by students.

In this role I performed many of the same duties as I did for both First Response Training and Development and ADF Group. The major difference was that I was self-employed as an independent operator.

Similar to my previous position, I trained and assessed fire wardens in emergency and evacuationprocedures. Evacuation procedures and safety drills was facilitated, run, and monitored. Clients were provided with written reports regarding training outcomes. In addition to these tasks, I trained and assessed fire safety advisors and provided general occupancy training to staff.

This role involved training and assessing fire wardens in emergency and evacuationprocedures. Training in the use of fire extinguishers utilized fire trays and extinguishers. Training for evacuation procedures and safety drills was facilitated, run, and monitored. Clients were provided with written reports regarding training outcomes.

I wore more than one hat while employed by Cochlear Brisbane Operations. As a member of the Quality Department, it was my role to ensure that documentation, specifically work instructions, ensured that products were manufactured and delivered in accordance with the regulatory requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001. I was frequently involved with auditing , maintaining regulatory compliance of the workplace, and keeping reliable records. This was not just from a quality aspect but, from my role as one of the company's Occupational Health and Safety Officers. In this role I conducted OH&S inductions, monitored the site for hazards, implemented and monitored hazard controls, report workplace incidents, and ensured that MSDS database was kept current.Being the Technical Writer (Technical Document Officer) it was my duty to research, write, update, and edit work instructions and inspection documents.As the in-house trainer, I developed, wrote, and maintained training material related to corporate management systems, workplace health and safety, and environmental management systems. I trained staff in the use of corporate management systems, occupational healthy and safety, and environmental management systems. I was responsible for the maintenance of training records and monitoring training effectiveness.

This was the first time I worked as a Technical Writer. Most of my duties involved the researching, writing, updating, and editing of inspection documents. I was also the company's Occupation Health and Safety Officer. In this capacity I conducted OH&S inductions, reported and reconciling workplace incidents, and implemented and monitored hazard controls.
