Severely impacted by acid mine drainage (AMD), the Cheat River was once considered one of America’s Most Endangered Rivers. Today, work by a diverse group of partners has resulted in life is returning to the Cheat River. In 2016, Fiends of the Cheat (FOC) was showcased as one of the “Faces of Success” in the EPA’s National Nonpoint Source Program Report.
