David Selby is a consumer and retail marketer, general manager, advertising executive and board member based in Chicago. He is a Partner, Advisor, Co-Chairman and former CEO of SCC, a leading independent, full-service creative company that builds brands and businesses through data-driven human insights and powerful brand ideas. During his time leading SCC the agency more than doubled in size, was named a Small Agency of The Year by Ad Age in 2021, 2020 and 2018 and has been consistently named one of the Top Workplaces in Chicago. David previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer of two companies – Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Potbelly Sandwich Works - and was a senior executive with global ad agency Leo Burnett. He has held general management roles and built and led teams and grown businesses within Fortune 50 companies and in highly entrepreneurial businesses. He is passionate about growth, culture, authentic leadership, collaboration and creativity. He previously served on the Board of Directors of TableSafe, an innovator in pay-at-the-table technology, and was an Advisor for juvenile products company Diono. He serves on the Board and is the past Chairman of Gilda's Club Chicago and also served on the Executive Committee of The Board of Managers for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, one of the Midwest’s largest not-for-profit organizations. David was honored in 2014 to receive the Silver Medal, awarded annually to one individual by the American Advertising Federation on behalf of their Chicago chapter based on outstanding accomplishments in the advertising field and in community service. David has a BA in English Literature from Amherst College and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from The Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
