I support schools and organizations in building community and managing conflict. I consult and train adults and young people across the U.S. As the Coordinator for the Restorative Justice Initiative at Oakland Unified School District I support schools in implementing a culture shift through the use of restorative justice practices. Eliminating racially disproportionate discipline is a primary concern of mine and a major goal of my work in schools.I am trained in Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), Crisis Response Intervention, Behavior intervention Case Management, and Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resiliency. When a person or community has been harmed, I create a space to help the person(s) harmed and the person who did the harm and other stakeholders tell their story and repair the harm done in a creative way. I do this as an alternative to the litigious and antagonistic legal system that exists in the courts and schools in our country. I support groups of people in need of a facilitated dialogue or conflict resolution. I have been doing this work for over 23 years.
