I am someone who is endlessly curious. I'm curious about knowledge, the arts, and people and events, both contemporary and historical. I love to know how things work and why. There's nothing I love better than sharing the knowledge and experience I accumulate and putting it to good use. I also have a passion for language and writing. This is why I worked as a bookseller for nearly a decade at Barnes and Noble, and then for Longleaf Services, a university press distribution company owned by University of North Carolina Press. My ongoing self-education in literature, history, culture, and current events and trends made me a strong asset as a bookseller. Over time as I took a greater role in store operations, I became a trusted hand in helping to execute company directives on the sales floor, and in helping to train new booksellers. From January 2018 to November 2021, I worked for Longleaf Services as a Customer Service Representative. Longleaf provides customer service, order fulfillment, and more for 18 university presses. I worked with bookstores, retailers, wholesalers, publisher sales representatives, and various other businesses, nonprofits and institutions as well as professors, authors, and other individuals to help them get the books they needed from Longleaf's client presses' rich catalogs. I am now looking to change careers and have been studying computer programming. I recently obtained an online degree for Intro to Programming from the website Udacity, learning HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript, Git, and more. I have been continuing to build my knowledge and skills.I'm looking to put my talents to further use. Let's talk!
